I have found that sound to be really helpful too. The battery on the 14 Pro was a big improvement from the 12 Mini I had previously, and the battery on my 16 Pro seems to be even better. LIDAR is the other reason I like the Pro model. I don't use it every day, but there have been situations where the door detection has been very useful. I've heard that people detection can help with finding an empty seat on public transportation or in a waiting room, as well as knowing when to move up when waiting in a line, but I haven't tried that yet. I have a 14 Pro which I bought to replace my iPhone 7 and I have never regretted it. The battery life is great and the phone is a nice size for me, but honestly the thing that I really like the most about it is that it makes a sound when it's booting up.! That might sound silly but it has really helped me out a lot many times over the past year. Bottom line is the pro is worth the extra money to me but I know that's not true for everyone.
