Hi, Face ID works most of the time for me on my 16 Pro, but I had a lot of trouble with it when I had my 14 Pro. I told the tech who helped me with some of the setup of the new phone about that, and he said that there was an air bubble between my screen protector and the phone itself. I'm not sure if that's your issue, but it might be worth checking into. Jessica

If so, the require attention should be off, which helps. You want to hold the pone about 10 to 12 inches from your face with your nose pointed at the middle of the screen. Good lighting in the room may help. I've been using Face ID for a few years, and I too find sometimes it doesn't work and I have to use my passcode but that is usually operator error. But, if the pone rebooted, or it thinks it has, it will require your passcode.
