Yes:I also made sure the app switcher was cleared when I had this annoyance with IPhone 3gs (little was left for me to go back to the Iusacel Store and reclaim for a new Iphone) until I discovered the trick of via the triple click, deactivate Voiceover when phone starts getting slow on typing, wait for 5-10 seconds, and reactivate Voiceover again. Thanks to this I've really gotten lots out of my 3gs in the nearly four months I've had it! The bad thing about blocking and unblocking the phone? you loos your place!

That is only partially true. I take rather copious notes in the notes app using
a bluetooth Braille keyboard, write all my email using both bluetooth Braille
and onscreen keyboards, work on multi-page documents in Pages app, and do many
other tasks on my iPhone. The key is to occasionally clear out the app switcher
and occasionally turn the iPhone off and then on again.

Even my iPhone 4 was robust enough to do all these tasks. Now that I have an
iPhone 5, the difference in performance is quite noticeable.

The issues are that all open apps take processor time to monitor, and the

Editing and writing on these devices, all of these devices so far, has been
the biggest disappointment. Short messages and reasonable urls is as much
as you seem to be able to do with any efficiency. For such an advanced
device, this side is cruder than DOS! Some of those old DOs apps were small
and efficient for what they did and would be superb for devices like these,
in theory of course!

Subject: typing speed during ams with iphone5 and iOS 6.01

Hello,
as you can see in the subject: I have the last iPhone(5) and the last
software.
I discover sometimes that the letters are typed very slowly during sms/mail
while using the on screen keyboard and voiceover is on of course.

I was going to a apple shop here inBelgium and they told me that I should
close (some) opened programs.
This seems a bug since apps that aren't currently working aren't using that
much memory…

Does anybody have troubles with typing on the screen and the slow speed?

Kind regards,
William Windels
