First Peter, the BRF file should only be used with a braille display.
I won't be near my Braille display today as I am having a colonoscopy and won't be at my desk.  I'm writing on my iPhone.
I'll check the document this evening.
As for the slash in a web page, you press dots 4,5,6 then dots 3,4 using UEB.  The 4,5,6 is like a modifier, which changes the s t sign dots 3,4 into the slash, so only the slash shows up in print.
I do not recall how to switch between open apps when in Braille Command mode.
someone else probably will.

Thanks Richard for passing on the link to the documents of braille contractions.

I also listened to the mp3 audio recording.

With Jaws, looking at your list of contractions listed alphabetically, I got as far as the “b”s. the “b” contractions start with the number 2.  Maybe a mistake?

Earlier, I got a list of the Command Mode commands.

You can get the app switcher with a double tap of the letter “h”:

Press dot one, dot two and dot five together twice

How (in command mode) to close the highlighted app and move left right through a number of open apps?

In braille entry, what are the dots for the forward slash character used in a URL address?

While I was teaching braille for a state rehab agency, I put together a document or two that gives the contractions, and punctuation for UEB and spells out the dots used.

I gather you have a braille display, so the BRF files could be used on it.

There is an MP3 file where I recorded some and a Word document for braille commands when using an Aple device.

They can be found at:

There is also some fun stuff there.

Subject: Is there a braille table with dot configurations for characters & punctuation

Hello,

Now that I’m starting with the braille screen input feature, I need a list of characters, punctuation  etc with the dots used.

My knowledge of braille goes back 60 years. I only remember the alphabet and common punctuations. At university I knew grade 3 braille and the Nemeth code. Most of that is now forgotten.

What we now have is Unified English braille.

Is there a table list to help?
How would I use the 8 dot braille?
