Just double tap on check in and search for your house, such as "Kathy's
House". At the end of the search list, you'll have an unlabelled button,
and right below that it'll say add this place so others can check in
here. Just double tap on that unlabelled button, and you'll be taken to
a dialogue where you will be able to create a new place in Four Square.

I haven't done this myself, but I guess people may want to let people
know when they're home, or they may want to let people check in when
they come over for a party or to visit. Of course, there may be a good
reason to this that I myself haven't thought of.
