Exactly, even a 2-year or 3-year old battery is not like new. I have had my iPhone 16 Pro since October 2024 so about a year and 9 months and it shows my maximum battery capacity is 89% and a cycle count of 704 cycles. The cycle count has the following description: This is the number of times iPhone has used your battery's capacity. Additionally it shows the manufacturing date as September 2024 and first use as October 2024. I should mention that OI am running the iOS 27 Developer Beta, I honestly can't remember if you had cycle count and all that in iOS 26, but I know for sure that maximum capacity in percentage has been available under Settings > Battery > Battery health for some years now.

The iPhone X is almost 10 years old. I find it extremely unlikely the battery is like new. Hello Gera No according to Apple, it is not the battery. More something else going on, like the hardware! Isn’t this just lovely! Apple claims the battery is still like new as when I first bought it. So, I will need to get the phone 10 checked out before I get a second phone line! So now, another mystery! ! Oh my goodness, technology can be a headache to deal with! But, thank you for the words of encouragement! Smile! Kindly, Janet. The problem is the phone doesn’t hold a charge, after I unplug the charger, the phone goes from 100 percent to 0 percent within an hour. Does anyone have any idea is to why this is happening, and what can I do to find out the problem, before I call Apple to see what they might say? I’ve checked the battery health and it is at 81 percent, and according to Apple that is new as when I first bought it. I’ve restarted the phone, but to no avail. Thank you all in advance.
