Jim,

Below is what I asked Copilot and the answer (I did briefly check and can
verify that these instructions are right on):
Can the Apple Watch 11 be set up so it plays a chime or gives haptick feedback
every hour?
Copilot said:
Yes. The Apple Watch Series 11 supports Chimes (Taptic Chimes), which can give
you a gentle haptic tap every hour, or every 30 or 15 minutes. If sound
is enabled, it can also play an audible chime.

Set it up on the watch
1. Open Settings on your Apple Watch.
2. Tap Accessibility.
3. Scroll to Chimes.
4. Turn Chimes on.
5. Under Schedule, choose:
• Hourly
• Every 30 Minutes
• Every 15 Minutes
6. Optionally choose a sound (Bells or Birds).

Haptic only
If your watch is in Silent Mode, you'll still receive the haptic taps without
any sound.

Set it up from your iPhone
1. Open the Watch app.
2. Tap Accessibility.
3. Tap Chimes.
4. Turn it on and select your preferred schedule.

If you're looking for a stronger vibration than the default hourly tap, I can
also show you how to increase the haptic intensity on the watch.

Subject: Apple Watch Question

Good afternoon.
Two questions.
First, Do people think it is worth upgrading from an Apple watch 11 to a 12? I
wonder if the software will work just as well with the current watch, or is
there particular hardware that is changing in the new watch?
Second, this is something that might be super obvious, which I cannot find in
settings. Is there a way to get my watch to go off at every hour with some sort
of tone or haptic device? I’m sure the answer will be way too obvious, but I’ll
swallow my pride and ask anyway. 😊
Jim
