Hi Marissa,

OK, you say that you go into the Phone app, find the contact, then go to
Edit and tap delete. Could you tell me whether you do this when you are on
the Favorites tab in the Phone app or the Contacts tab? You could even just
tell me if the Edit button is at the top left or the top right of the
screen.

I suspect you are on the Favorites tab and use the Edit button at the top
left of the screen. This will delete the Contact from the Favorites list,
but it does not delete the actual Contact.

In order to delete the Contact you have to either select the Contacts tab
first or simply use the Contacts app to begin with.
Find the contact you want to delete, then double tap on it and open the
contact details. On this screen tap the "Edit" button at the top right of
the screen.
The Delete button is the very last button on that screen. If you are using
the Phone app and Contacts tab, you can find it faster by touching the
bottom left of the screen, it will still show the Phone app dock items and
Favorites is the bottom left. Now just swipe left once. For some reason
Voiceover often jumps right over the Delete button and you have to swipe
right again once to find it. Double tap and confirm and you r contact is
truly gone.
If you are using the actual Contacts app, there is no Favorites, Recents
etc. across the bottom and the delete button is the very last element on the
screen. You can do a single 4-finger tap on the bottom half of the screen,
once again for some reason you may land on the button before Delete, just
swipe right once.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Question regarding contacts

Does anyone know why after deleting a contact and then going into the
messages application the contact still appears? the only way I can ensure a
contact does not show up in the messages app is by erasing my iPhone,

If anyone is unclear as to what I'm asking lets say I want to delete my
friend Named Mack and all of his contact info I go into the phone app scroll
down to Mack and hit edit, followed by delete. I am prompted if I want to
delete this contact I tap delete .

Now if I go into the messages app and hit the letter M Mack's info is still
there listed with my other contacts whose names begin with m.

Ideas anyone?
