But joking aside, I completely agree with you which is why I said your phone "can" become less stabil and jailbreak apps "can contain" poorly written code. I completely understand that this is not necessarily the case and always hear Rob from Today in iOS advise that one should always remove/delete jailbreak apps one doesn't use in order to avoid running into conflicts. I think, however, for some jailbreaking may be a temptation to put so many apps on the phone that you lose track of which might be causing a problem. You are probably correct in saying that if you are careful that you can minimize the risk and maximize the benefits. Maybe I have to try it one of these days, but then again, maybe I don't since my iPhone does everything I want it do to and I totally don't mind syncing my music with iTunes. I have a 64 Gb phone and about 25 Gb of music ripped at 256 Kbps so for me that part is easy, I check the "Sync All Music" and it's a one-time process. That being said, here is the other side of the view on jailbreaking. I'm a happy jailbreaker and while Sieghard's points are very much valid, not all apps from the Cydia store, (the jailbreak app store), are harmful. It's true that you have to be a bit more careful about what you get, but as long as you know what you install, and as long as you remove something that causes lock ups after installing it so you don't forget what did it in the first place, then jailbreaking is a beautiful experience. To give an example, I'm still running iOS 5.1.1 on my iPhone 4S, but it's not just because the untethered jailbreak isn't available for iOS 6, it's also because most of the functionality that you get with iOS 6 is already available to me in iOS 5.1.1 due to the various jailbreak apps or tweaks. At this point I would say that the main feature of iOS 6 that I don't get are the Apple Maps, but from what I've discovered so far from my wife's and daughter's iPhones using iOS 6, I'm not missing much. For maps and gps programs I use a combination of either Navigon or Google Maps or Waze GPS, together with Ariadne GPS. I can copy mp3 files to my iPhone as if it was a usb stick and still use the normal music app to listen to them. I have a much more reliable do not disturb feature which can be applied to a single contact or a group of contacts, and most importantly, I can theme my phone to use custom sounds for everything and I can use Google Voice fully integrated as if my Google Voice number was my real iPhone number. I hope this other viewpoint helps.
