Hi, if you are using iOS 6 then jailbreaking it isn't worth it. Please Google for the differences between tethered and untethered jailbreaks and it will be more clear. Basically right now untethered jailbreaks for iOS 6 are not available.

Good luck.

than Windows or a jail broken iPhone, where if you just practice some
common sense, you can avoid most of the problems caused by malware.

Hi there all. I always respect what Sieghard has to say on list because
he is obviously very knowledgeable and has demonstrated that he knows
what he is talking about. That being said, here is the other side of the
view on jailbreaking. I'm a happy jailbreaker and while Sieghard's
points are very much valid, not all apps from the Cydia store, (the
jailbreak app store), are harmful. It's true that you have to be a bit
more careful about what you get, but as long as you know what you
install, and as long as you remove something that causes lock ups after
installing it so you don't forget what did it in the first place, then
jailbreaking is a beautiful experience. To give an example, I'm still
running iOS 5.1.1 on my iPhone 4S, but it's not just because the
untethered jailbreak isn't available for iOS 6, it's also because most
of the functionality that you get with iOS 6 is already available to me
in iOS 5.1.1 due to the various jailbreak apps or tweaks. At this point
I would say that the main feature of iOS 6 that I don't get are the
Apple Maps, but from what I've discovered so far from my wife's and
daughter's iPhones using iOS 6, I'm not missing much. For maps and gps
programs I use a combination of either Navigon or Google Maps or Waze
GPS, together with Ariadne GPS. I can copy mp3 files to my iPhone as if
it was a usb stick and still use the normal music app to listen to them.
I have a much more reliable do not disturb feature which can be applied
to a single contact or a group of contacts, and most importantly, I can
theme my phone to use custom sounds for everything and I can use Google
Voice fully integrated as if my Google Voice number was my real iPhone
number.

I hope this other viewpoint helps.

PS, Sieghard, perhaps one day you and I can play devil's advocate and
you can convince me why jailbreaking would be good, and I can do the
opposite. <smile>.

Jailbreaking is perfectly save and all that, if you are a Jailbreaker and

I am sure you will receive plenty of replies from experienced
Jailbreakers

6 you
are not able to do an untethered Jailbreak yet which means even if you
find
a Jailbreak, you would have to plug in your phone to the computer
should it
crash or should you want to reboot it since if y ou rebooted it without
having it plugged in, it would not work. I am sure there will be an
untethered Jailbreak coming up, but it's not here yet.

Hi Mohammed,

Although there are currently no applications in the App Store which will
make your iPhone vibrate as you type on the keyboard, there are a few
options available for iPhone users who have done a successful
jailbreak on
their phones. After a jailbreak, you'll have access to the Cydia
application
store on your device -- a store of non-Apple approved applications
that many
users find very useful for enhancing their phone's functionality. In the
Cydia store, you will find multiple applications for making your iPhone
vibrate as you type, a feature known as haptic feedback.

Where did you hear about this app? Was it Applevis? When I did the google
search for "Key Vibrate App" the Applevis link to that app came up as
well,
but it states also that it is a Jailbreak app.

Lastly, just as a general comment, keep in mind that if you hear about a
particular app you may not find it in your country's App Store as not all
apps are available in all countries. I am not sure where you live, but if
you are looking for a particular app and can't find it at all it's
always a
good idea to do a google search for that app or simply ask google "In
which
countries is the so and so app available". Chances are you will find the
information.

Regards,
Sieghard

Hello.
I do not have a stream, but have converted quite a few books from mobi to
epub using ebook-convert and read those books in iBooks. I have found
that
the author and title fields are maintained, at least for iBooks.
It may well be that they were malformed on the Mobi, that the Stream
doesn't
read them properly, or that ebook-convert is doing something strange
and out
of standard which is effecting the title/author fields for the stream.
All I
can say is that iBooks seems to have no issue with these fields.

When you do this conversion, does it transfer the book title and author?
I've run across some epub books that have been converted this way. On my
stream it won't speak the book title or author when I move across the
bookshelf.

Hi.
Though I agree that Calibre is an excellent book manager, its GUI is not
accessible to any screen reader. However, it can be used to convert books
from mobi to epub through the command line, which is accessible. See
http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/cli/ebook-convert.html
for instructions. I have a Pithon script which, when a mobi file is
clicked,
will convert the file to Epub and put it in a temporary directory. If
anyone
wants this, let me know.

It is possible to set a bookmark with VO on, but it's a little clunky
right now. You need to press the text area and hold for a second. And
then you'll have the option to Define, Bookmark and Highlight. A
bookmark is always set at the beginning of the paragraph you'll on. A
highlight is set on the sentence. So even it is imprecise because
you'll see the exact Word you're pressing, in the end it'll be close
enough. Once you set a bookmark, you can go back to it using the
Bookmark menu, which lets you navigate to a autogenerated chapter,
bookmark, or highlight.

I'm going to add a "Bookmark" button in the next release so you can
set a Bookmark at the speech cursor without having to invoke the
context menu by long press.

Winston.

Thanks Winston, I figured you had gotten it but were busy with other
things so it's cool. Glad to know that a lot of folks are using it, I
have found the bookmarks chapter marks and such very usable for
navigation and have used this since I have gotten it more than read2go
because it does recognize more formats, and has more voices with
everything. Keep up the great work and I hope to see some great things
from you guys in the future. I noticec the textbox and that is handy.
The only thing is, how does one set bookmarks in a particular book, or
is it possible with voiceover yet. I can get to all the bookmarks that
are automatically generated but didn't know if I could set my own. I
haven't explored the chapter marks yet and was wondering if that is a
separate setting or how that works, but I use a lot of the
automatically generated bookmarks to navigate with now which is nice.
Anyway, thanks again for getting back to me, and keep up the great work.
I'm
recommending it to not only blind and visually impaired patrons of
mine since I work for the Library for the Blind here in Alabama, but I
am also recommending it to students with learning disabilities that
are on bookshare and even if they're not to use the app because of all
it does provide for the price especially. I'm hooked and hope to see
more great updates and features as you can. Thanks for a great product
and keep up the great work.
Take care and talk to you soon.

Hi,

handle very large text.

Quite a few blind users are using my app happily now, using a
combination
of chapter marks, bookmarks, text search, and manual scrolling.

Best,
