Hello Craig,

I assume that if you use iOS 5 that you are using the native Google Maps app
which used to be one of Apple's stock apps in iOS. In iOS 6 Apple ditched
Google Maps in favour of their own Maps app since Google did not permit Apple
to use turn-by-turn voice navigation and maybe there were other reasons as
well. The upside is that if you do get a new iPhone with the Apple Maps app you
will find it rather accessible, the downside is that Apple is getting a lot of
negative press since their maps app does not quite meet the high standard that
people expect from Apple. Google has recently released the Google Maps app
which is free in the app store. I haven't used the old Maps app in iOS 5 nor
have I used the new Google Maps app, but I assume they would be quite different
from one another. Apparently the new Google Maps app is accessible to a degree;
I personally found that Navigon has always done a good job for me so I don't
feel the need to fiddle around with google Maps.

Regards,
Sieghard

Hello, everyone.

I am having great difficulty understanding how Google Maps works.
Might this be because I am using an iPhone 3GS with iOS 5? The Google
Maps page on the App Store says my phone and OS meet the system
requirements, but it may well be that VoiceOver does better with
button labeling if a user has iOS6. All comments welcome.

Craig
