Well, maybe I'm nuts, but when I had speech muted messing around on my iPad and the 4S, I sure don't remember hearing those clicks. My phone's charging right now, but I just tried again on the iPad, and no clicks or folder and app opening sounds etc are heard with speech muted. I did have to repair my iPad though. I can't remember if you are suppose to turn off the display prior to locking the screen or the other way around. Mary
