I'm sorry to ask as I feel I should know this, but I don't. What are banners, badges, and alerts? I know there's options for these in Notifications, but what are the differences and merits and drawbacks of these several options?

I find this less disruptive, I can still see the most recent Notification in the lock screen and if I want to see them all I just swipe down from the top and go into the Notification Centre.
