Most GPS apps are useless to iPod Touch and iPad users except for Navigon and possibly TomTom if you have an external GPS receiver.

The town of Deas Lake in northern BC which has a population of about 1,000 has absolutely no cell coverage within 400 miles in any direction. Of course people don't need a GPS to find their way around Dease Lake *smile*, but I was just making a point how for a visitor having maps on the phone can certainly be of great value.
