Hi, if you don't know where the letters are on a qwerty keyboard then this app will probably not be the best for you, and you might have trouble finding the letters on a virtual keyboard. However if you have the idea of where letters are, even if it's not exact, then this app is very useful. Take the word "hello" for example. Most everyone knows that the letter h is pretty much in the middle of the keyboard. Not too high, and not too low, and just about the center. So, tap that area without waiting for the feedback if you are right. Now, the letter e is on the top row, toward the left. Again, don't be accurate, just press the area above the area where you think the h is, but to the left. Now, the letter L is on the far right, around the center, meaning not all the way at the top or bottom. Tap that area twice. Now the final letter O is above the letters K and L, so near the right. If you recall where you tapped for the approximate letter L area, then just tap once above that and that will be close enough to O. Now swipe once to the right. I bet that Fleksy will guess the word "Hello".

I hope this helps, but the thing to remember is that all you need is a loose idea of where qwerty location of letters are in order to make the most use of this app.

I like fleksy but I would appreciate more if they give you more audio
feedback regarding the letters. I don't have the patience to guess
the letters!!!!!!!!!! I am not that kind of person who feels you
should have to know where each letter is. But I like it and I use it
often, however, I am also starting to like braille touch more and more
everyday. Thanks!

HI. I was just curious. After typing with a virtual keyboard for a while
I found that I could pretty much guess where the letters were.

           Hello all
yes I love Fleksy a lot and use it for both short and long
messages. A tip: you can send e-mail directly via Fleksy by going into the
menu and by choosing e-mail. Also if you have e-mail addresses in your
favourites you can double tap on a send to menu item and it's just a case of
double tapping on send. Another tip type the subject followed by a new line
followed by your message. This tells Fleksy the first line is the subject of
the e-mail and to treat the rest as the body.
           Happy typing!
           Chris.

Hello there. In addition to what Richard and Chuck have already
said, this app was featured in a CNN article listing some of the 20 most
best apps of late. This tells me that the app is getting some notice by a
lot of sighted people as well. One thing which is really good about the app
is that as long as you have an idea of where the letters are, you do not
need to be 100% accurate. This reminds me of the predictive texting that
many nonsmart phones like some from Nokia phones have. Some people would
have said the price was a con because it was rather high. However the app is
now free so that should not be an issue. In my specific case, it has not
increased my typing by 50% like it has with other people. This is because I
already typed rather fast on the iPhone due to the tactile dots from the
screen protector I have on it. However it has helped increase my typing a
little. If I am going to write a rather long email such as this one, I will
probably use Fleksy or I will dictate. I

f I am going to write a short email or just send texts, I will
usually not use it because of how fast I already type. It would not be more
efficient using the app and then copying the text and then pasting it into
an email. So, in my case I use it some of the time but not all of the time.
I know this does not directly answer your question on the good and bad of
this app. However I am hoping that may be based on my experience with it,
along with the experience of other list members, it will help you make a
better informed choice as to whether this is something that you would
benefit from.
