Hi Mary, Your best and least expensive option if you already own an iPhone would be the Seeing Eye app from Sendero which was recently discussed a lot, but which will not be available to the public for a while. Not sure if there is a set date, but from what it sounded like it may not be out until late summer or fall.
As far as a stand-alone device is concerned I don't think there is much that is good and costs less than a Trekker Breeze, but since this is an iPhone list you might want to find out how to join the accessible GPS list, not sure exactly what it's called, but maybe somebody on the list knows and will send you the information directly.
