Hi: This device is just like any other airplay device in its treatment. So, if it's turned on and you're using an app that supports airplay, it will show up in your list of devices to play to. Obviously, if you're connected via bluetooth or line in, you would not see it as an airplay device, neither would you really be using it as such if you're using either one of those options.
Even the Jambox if you're using line in, you cannot use the bluetooth feature. Does this clarify?
