Notifications are considered events. There are only a set number you can
have. It's explained in one of the apps by Yoctoville apps. I have his
chime clock app and asked him why you cannot set the Westminister chimes to
play quarterly 24/7. That's when he mentioned that there are a limited
number of events you can have. Reminders and the like are all considered an
event.

Chris, I did what you said; I did see the settings. David's message also is
quite helpful about these things.
I am a little stumped why some apps that had been sending notifications are
no longer doing so, but I don't think that is something we will be able to
figure out.

Hello Paul and all
Ok did you double tap on the app in Notifications? If not then you won't
see the settings; it only lists what notifications if any are allowed
from the app.
As for your second question it would appear to be the case.
Chris.

Chris, when I do what you said in the first question, it lists badges,
sounds, alerts, etc. It says nothing about the lock screen.
Second, that setting discussed before is in the voiceover section of
settings under accessibility; however, that, itself, is not important.
Is it just for telling you that you have selected text to cut and paste,
etc.?

Hello Paul and all
first of all make sure any or all notifications have the view in lock
screen setting turned on. Most of them are by default. You can check by
going to Settings, Notifications and by double tapping on an app whose
notifications are set. As for your second question, first of all speak
selection is in the main accessibility section of Settings, and not in
VoiceOver itself. I have this turned off personally but this may be
useful for low vision users who need a bit of voice guidance when
selecting text. For reference you can do the same with the speak
autocorrect setting.
Chris.

Hello, since I got my new phone, I am getting no notifications. I just
turned notifications in the lock screen on, but even when it was off,
shouldn’t those notifications be in the notification center, or does
having that setting off mean I do not see those notifications at all?
Also under voiceover in settings, there is a speak selections; what
happens when that is on or off?
I’ve not noticed voiceover doing anything unusual yet I thought I always
had this turned on.
