Contrary to the beliefs of several people, Bluetooth management in the iPhone is extremely efficient. If nothing is connected, Bluetooth remains off. It is able to switch on rapidly when a Bluetooth signal is obtained, but the Bluetooth transceiver's system will only cause a couple percent per hour of increased battery drain when active with one device.
Even wifi switched on but not connected is extremely well managed, so its drain is negligible. When connected to Wifi, on the other hand, and actively surfing, getting email, and other data transfer tasks, Wifi becomes quite draining. That said, the largest drain I've seen on my iPhone is from GPS. This makes sense when one considers how weak GPS signals actually are.
