While I agree with most of these battery saving tips, I should point out
something the guides don't take into account.

Audio-brightness should be switched to off, not on.

Common sense dictates that while it would save battery life on the brightness,
that savings would be eaten up by the power the light sensor is using up in
order to operate. Granted, I don't know exactly how much power that particular
sensor uses up, as it would have to function constantly in order to be able to
deduce what setting the brightness needs to be at in order to operate at a
comfortable level in any particular instance, whatever it is, you wouldn't gain
in battery savings as you would setting auto-brightness to off.

In any case, if your vision doesn't require brightness, as in you're a totally
blind person, keep the screen curtain on, and regardless of what the brightness
is set at, be it 0% or 100%, the screen curtain shuts down any foreground and
background colours, making the screen essentially blank, and, as I said in my
previous post, I have confirmed this with my brother who is sighted.

The great thing is that the screen curtain doesn't have to be turned off
manually when you need sighted assistance with the phone, as turning off
Voiceover automatically shuts off the screen curtain, then re-enables it when
you turn Voiceover back on. Talk about efficiency. Smiles.
