This is jus a thought. Do you have an app "Light Detector." If you are totally blind; this app could give you feedback if any light is being produced. I have this on my iPhone4. I also have a light detector on my qstantd a lone color identifier that gives me audio feedback. Give it a try. It may be able to begin trouble shooting the problem. HTH.
