Hallo again Annie,

I strongly suspect that it is the connection between the cable and the
lights themselves as mine too is iffy.

As I am also awaiting a replacement for the same reason, i just asked my
practical partner to take a good look at what is happening.

These are his findings and recommendations:

1. There is too much movement possible at the join of 2 delicate wires to the
lights and the, much more heavy duty, cable. This should really be solid state.
He suggests...

Iether the cable should be stapled/clamped in some way throught the
carbaord to make sure that movoment at this point is eliminated, or that the
round rubber collar that is on the end of the cable should be something with
flat sides so that it could be strongly glued to the cardboard.

In short: this is a definite weakness and would seriously impinge upon the
portability of the StandScan pro. However, as many have found, when it works,
it works very well for us, and so is worth going through some teething
problems, but they do need sorting.

Harry and his team have proved themselves to be very responsive to their
customer base and so, I am feeling confident that this problem can be sorted.

Meanwhile, Annie, rather than risk repetition, why not hang on a bit to see
if they can improve the design?

    Best, Sandy.
