I have my Gmail contacts and calendar synchrnonized with my iPhone and iPad. Try: http://techcrunch.com/2012/09/27/google-introduces-an-easier-way-to-sync-gma il-contacts-to-your-iphone/ They give a quick overview on how to do it. There are also other Google support articles on how to do this. I believe too that there was a podcast posted on Apple Vis covering this same topic.
