Wow, I have to agree with you here. I'd much rather have an audio book verses
one I have to read with voice-over and NLS would be second on my list as well I
also use both the iBooks app and the Kindle app and I keep a few kindle books
on my iPhone for those times when I find myself sitting on my butt in
somebody's waiting room and I usually have some sort of ear phone for private
listening.

I've heard the talk about some sort of NLS app for iPhone but haven't heard
anything lately and what I've heard has been spotty. All I care about is would
it let me listen to an NLS book on my iPhone. It would be one more option I'd
have. I'm good to go on Kindle books. Somebody gave me an archive of 1700
kindle books.

  Hi,

This makes no sense to me. lol. Why would a person not want stuff for free
if its possible to get it for free? I think there are a couple of reasons why
one would buy something they could get for free. Sentimental reasons/pride or,
you believe the goods/service your paying for is of superior quality than the
free stuff. For me, I look at the quality of goods and services. If its all
equal to me, 9 times out of 10, sentimentality is taking a backseat. Now, I
happen to prefer spending money to read an audiobook via audible. That is
always my first choice. I just find that mode of reading more entertaining.
Second is NLS/BARD. many times the narrators are of lesser quality than those
who do the audible narrating but, I'll take them anyday over synthetic speech
on my phone, tablet, or computer. This service just happens to be free.
Lastly, I look to iBooks and Kindle. This is my least favorite way to read
but, having access to so many books, and the day the are released is
justification enough to pay in my opinion.

And no, I don't expect everything for free, and I don't complain when people
have the nerve to charge for things. lol. I'm just trying to look at this
logically. I mean, how many sighted people turn away free stuff? I'm willing
to bet the majority won't and, don't.

I think the problem is, many blind people might take this for granted more
than sighted folk might. Or, maybe it just comes downs to a lack of means to
buy the things they want.

are getting at the same price. I don't mind buying books at all. I don't know
why people are always wanting stuff for free, your going to have to spend money
and I for one am grateful to do so to show my appreciation to amazon for making
their app accessible.

admittedly, you can keep the books from Bookshare. But now that I am able to, I
view it as a way to check out a book and read it, then find it if I like it and
purchase. It's what my Mom did with print books. Still does. She'll go to the
library, check out a copy, read it, and if she likes it, will purchase it in
hardcover or Kindle. I see Bookshare in a similar way, since I don't know how
well Overdrive works for checking out accessible e-books to borrow, and I don't
want to check out a library book and risk damaging it by scanning it. I'm ore
than happy to shell out money when I have it, though, to get books, especially
now. Reading with the Kindle app is so slick, even compared to iBooks.

in a recent Tech Doctor podcast, that this number is 1.8 million (I have not
confirmed this.) Not all these books will be readable with this app (the ones
that are images), and not all books on Amazon are available through Kindle, but
just having such a large number of readable books is the biggest advantage.
Another advantage is how quickly we will be able to buy these books after they
are issued as print copies. They probably are available through kindle within
a few days of publication. The Nook, and Google Books services will have some
of them, but Amazon has the largest number of eBooks.

I will check Bookshare first to see if the book that I want to read is there to
download because of the ability to download the book for free. I have "Read2Go"
& Voice Dream apps on the phone to accomplish this. What features in the Kindle
app is unique to app that is not in the other apps? Input on this would be
