Hi, Many of us will tell you our preference. Personally I find that a bit
meaningless. Cells and controls that feel nice to me may not be at all
comfortable to you. I strongly suggest you try to feel a few braille displays
and decide for yourself which feel good to you and which don't. Not an easy
task, but considering what you're paying it would be worth your while hunting
for some demo units.

The new brailliant BI and Brailleedge devices are real workhorses. The old
focus blue was alright although I am not a fan of the focus control surface or
cells myself. I've only trained on one new focus blue for a client and the
dots failed last month. Can't go by one in all fairness but for the price i'm
keeping an eye out to see if I notice a trend.

Avoid the alva bc640. They are incredibly breakable I've had four or 6 of them
fail on clients in the last three years or so. In fact, they were all the rage
here when they were the only modern thing to be funded, but as soon as you
could get a focus blue or a brailliant BI, no one here would authorize them any
more and the number of alvas I see has dropped right off the bottom of the map.

Best,

Erik Burggraaf
