On the computer display, the situation is a little different. Your husband is 
scrolling the text with the mouse by holding the pointer on a button and 
pressing the mouse button. In that case, the text is scrolling from bottom to 
top, usually, or from top to bottom. It is one reason sighted people do not 
enjoy reading on the computer for extended periods of time.

All of the book reader tablets have instituted some sort of page turning rather 
than continuous scrolling of text because sighted people find this to be much 
more relaxing.

Apple initially did this with VO as well. Several complaints to accessibility 
told Apple that blind people prefer to listen continuously rather than stopping 
at the end of each page, so they instituted auto page turning a couple versions 
later.
