I thought there would have been a way of connecting an ipod touch using the
lightning connector to a sound system. With my 4th generation ipod, you can
use the 30 pin conector with the Apple universel doc to connect it to a
sound system.

There may be some kind of converter to accomplish this, but I would not
think it would be possible to connect an audio system to a phone via the
lightning adapter. The lightning adapter is a digital connection, where the
headphone jack and your audio system are analog. You might consider buying
one of these bluetooth receivers that connects to your audio system, and
connecting via bluetooth.
