I have a Plantronics 520 Bluetooth Ear peace. It worked well with my old cell
phone and it continues to work well with my iPhone 4. Voice Over works well
with it. I have a game called voice black jack which will automatically switch
to the ear peace because of the better microphone in the ear peace. Also
Dragon also automatically changes over to the ear peace when I'm using that
app. I have never noticed any lag in time though. I've never heard that term
until I joined this list. I have no idea if the Plantronics 520 is still
around but it wasn't all that expensive at 60 dollars.

Unfortunately, no. Some bluetooth headset will play nicely with voice over
and some do not. It has been my experience that the Jabra headsets do not work
with voice over. Plantronics and Samsung seen to work well, at least the ones I
have owned.

I purchased a Jabra bluetooth earphone a few weeks ago with the express
purpose of being able to hear VoiceOver and Siri through that channel. But now
it seems that VoiceOver continues to sound through the onboard speaker on my
iPhone 5. Is there anything I might do to change this?
