The funny thing here is, I have an iPhone 4 which doesn't have SIRI but it does have voice assist. When I want to make a phone call with my iPhone 4 I press and hold the button down for 2 seconds on my Plantronics 520 Bluetooth ear peace. When I hear VO announce voice control I say who I want to call. Voice control then says calling and then repeats the name. For example, I can say call Joe Blow and if their are multiple entries for that contact, voice assistant says home, or work? Yeah I had to double tap the screen. Totally bazaar! The purpose of the Bluetooth is so you don't have to get your phone out. Lol! Then it said dismissed Seri, so I did. I started the process over, said to call my wife at home, and nothing happened until I double tapped the screen. Then the call went through. Try double tapping the screen after you give the command. This may solve the problem, however, if you need to touch the screen you may as well go into contacts.
