Guys I should probably add that, at lower speeds, the high quality voices are superior without a doubt. So, if what you want is clear human-sounding speech but don’t mind slower speeds, then the HQ voices are probably for you. However we all probably have our voices at 100% (or at least I can’t have it any less) and thus the compact voices are much clearer in my humble opinion.
Also I think there are differences in the quality of the compact voices. The British voice is fuzzy and indistinct whereas the Australian seems far less fuzzy to my ears. And BTW I do agree that the British HQ voice is fantastically clear – just can’t deal with it at high speed even though I’m British myself.
