I've noticed how choppy they are, too. Personally, I can't stand them. I, too, use the compact Australian voice, Karen. I love it! I can't stand Samantha in any form whatsoever. The only reason I use her in compact form at all is because when I have my Braille display connected to my iPhone, I can use the North American Braille code.
