Patti, when I got my iPhone 4 over 2 years ago, there was a young guy maybe in
his early 20's who viewed me being totally blind as a great opportunity to
learn something new himself. He had said he knew about voice-over but never
had the chance to try it out so we'll learn about it together he said. We
spent the next 3 or 4 hours learning various gestures etc, to get me up and
using my phone. He even gave me his personal cell number incase I needed help.
I can't say enough good things about how I was treated at my local AT&T store.
If I remember right, it was about a month after I had my phone that I got a
call from the young fellow asking me how I was doing with my phone and did I
have any questions or problems he could help me with. Very happy with the
service at AT&T.

  Subject: Phone is working

I went to the AT&T store with a friend who incidentally had to get a new
phone and got an iphone.
Anyway, the guy took mine, and within seconds had it working again.
I was thankful especially he knew what to do but just frustrated I had to
make the trip, just because any other sighted person I would ask would say they
didn't know how to help me. None of my sighted friends are at all technical
savvy, they can barely do email.

Oh well, at least I have my phone back.
  Patti
