Joseph, I'm sorry that you felt like I gave incomplete or misleading
information about my knowledge of key pass. Yes I did say I stumbled across it,
but I meant stumbled across it as a solution not it as a new program to me.

As you will see you later in my post, I obviously had some knowledge of the
program when I described how I might use the various fields for journaling,
rather than the password protection they were intended for.

Again, your information provided has been most useful and certainly most
appreciated. Please accept my apology for any misUnderstanding.

You made it seem as though you've never heard of KeePass or MiniKeepass and
you only became aware of it when you searched and found Raul's entries in
the list archives. Had you mentioned you were already using it from the
beginning, the type of information you would have received would have been
more targeted, detailed, and relevant to what you wanted to do as well as
saving listers time and preventing many unnecessary posts. I'm very happy
you found a solution, but typing up this kind of information does take time
and effort. Just wish you would have provided "all" information from the
beginning. (Smile).

Joseph, thank you for those warnings, but I have been using MiniKeePass for
about six months for keeping passwords. I use it both on my iPad devices and
Windows PC.

The additional operation I want is to be able to write a daily journal. Just
a few paragraphs about what went on that day. Thus, I was thinking I could
put the day/date in the entry field and notes in the notes field, leaving
the username and password blank.

I will try it for a little bit and certainly let you know how it goes.
Thanks again for all of your suggestions and all the help everyone else has
been, too.

I've been using KeePass for years, and the first thing I installed on my
recently purchased iPod Touch 5th gen was MiniKeepass. What you want to do
will be a bit cumbersome as you will have to execute many steps to review
your information; let's not even get into entering new information. First
you will have to install KeePass on your desktop computer as you cannot
configure anything on MiniKeepass. Secondly, on your IOS device, depending
on the structure of your KeePass file, you may have to execute many steps
before accessing the information you would like to review. If you have the
time and patience to repeat this process over and over, this can be a good
solution, but I think after completing this process a few times you will
slowly begin to stop using it as its just too much to have to
navigate--especially in a noisy environment or in a situation where you need
the information quickly such as talking to the bank teller or on the phone.

MiniKeepass Pros:
*you will have all of your passwords safely backed up in a good safe outside
of your desktop.

MiniKeepass Cons:
*reviewing entries will take many key presses.
*entering new data will become a headache.
*manipulating MiniKeepass entries can become time consuming and a bit of a
chore.
*learning the desktop KeePass application will take a bit of time to learn
and setup properly.

with that said, and I'm conveying this information as my own experience
which many be different for you, please feel free to contact me if you need
any help setting this up, and I'll do my best! (Smile).

Thank you everyone for these fine suggestions. I have a lot to research.

In the meantime, I may have stumbled across my own solution. It is a
password manager Raul recommended months ago called MiniKeePass. I think
that I can simply enter the month as a general entry and day/date as the
individual entry. Then skip the username and password field and use the
notes field as the Journaling area. I haven't tested completely, but it
looks like you can get quite a bit in there. I don't know what the
restrictions might be. This would allow one to make entries or review them
from either and I device or PC.

Raul, if you read this and see any obvious restrictions, I would most
appreciate it. All thanks to everyone!
