Yeah, I already figured this out and do this. When a show is playing
though, the screen is blank as far as VO is concerned. Sometimes double
tapping on the screen will bring up the options to pause, change the
volume, move forwards or backwards in the show and so on. When the double
tap doesn't bring these options up, I turn VO off, do a single tap and
then turn VO back on.
I'll give that podcast a listen. It's been on my to do list for a while.
Thanks.

I will agree the hard reset is sometimes necessary, although usually just
turning phone off and on will do the trick. However, great podcast in applevis
about net flicks. If you cannot tap a show, touch right side of screen,,
double-tap and hold and still with your finger on
the screen move swiping
to the left rather slowly. That will take the last show on the line and
move it all the way to the lefte. Now you have two more icons you can double
tap to play. Takes some practice, but you
do not have to turn off VO. I do not know how to place the link in the message,
but I encourage you to check applevis podcasts. Saved me a whole lot of
frustration!

This just happened to me yesterday. I had done a triple click to turn off VO so
I could tap on something in NetFlix, and when I tried to use triple click home
to turn VO back on, the touch screen stopped working and I wasn't getting any
output from VO.
I tried powering off the iPhone, but neither I nor my sighted wife could slide
or double tap on the screen to power it off. I did a hard reset, and when it
came back up, the triple click to turn VO wasn't working. I had to get my wife
to go in and turn on VoiceOver, although I suppose I could have done this
through iTunes on my PC.
If I've ever had to do a hard reset before on my iPhone, I don't recall it.

Hi,
This isn’t really an answer just curiosity on my part but, what is prompting
you guys to do a hard reset anyway? Is your device freezing?
Thanks.

I don’t think that’s going to work if you do a hard reset. You have to set it
back to the triple home click again.

I’ve found the same trouble, and ‘ve had to get someone with sight to put the
voice over back again, and also, it doesn’t come back to the same voice you
had, before the hard reset.

Subject: Hard resets and voice over
Hello all,
When resetting my iPhone using the hard reset (pressing the top button and the
home button at the same time for a few seconds), many times the voice over
function will not come back on. I will then need sighted assistance to go
through the settings menu to turn voice over back on.
Is there any way to avoid this, or is this simply a bug in the operating system?
Thank you,
Craig
