Greetings Theresa: I'll try to explain how this is all. Iphone has several volumes: that of Voiceover which you use while the phone is speaking, move the up and down volumes, and that of the genral system which you work while the Iphone isn't doing anything, move the up/down volume. Good luck! and hoefully that's what you mean?

Hi, all,

I'm really confused about how the volume buttons work. I have ringer alerts set to
be adjusted with them. I also have taken VO volume out of the rotor. However, it
seems these things adjust themselves independently of each other. I'd like to make
the volume buttons function as a 'master volume" control without messing up all
the various levels. I haven't seen a toggle for using VO volume with the buttons,
but maybe i'm missing something. I'm using an iPod Touch 5 with IOS 6, latest
version.

Can someone help me cl ear this up?

thanks,
teresa
