I'm right handed but I use a Bluetooth ear peace on my left side because that's the side I used for my dog guide. And, it left my right hand free. Even when using a cane in my right hand I still use the ear peace in my left ear. So I don't use call waiting on my iPhone either. I turned it off. If I'm talking on the phone, that means I'm busy! call back later. So I rarely use the home button which was why I was curious. Lastly, thanks to everybody for being very helpful and not laughing at me to much. <grin>

Same here, I almost always use my index finger for the home button. The only
exception to that is if I have need to use the phone one-handed in which
case I use my left thumb.

Best regards,

Rick Alfaro

The funny thing is, I always hold my iPhone in my left hand as I'm right
handed and so I use my iPhone with my right hand. I never hit the home key with my thumb. I figure, they don't call it a thumb scanner, they call it a
finger print scanner. <grin> So my thanks to Ricardo for my morning
chuckle.

Hi Ricardo,

True, most people don't use their thumbs for Braille reading, but then
there's that silly thing called life that keeps getting in the way of
one's perfectly coiffed digits.

Remember what sets us apart from other animals is the fact that we do have

opposable thumbs, hence we tend to use our thumbs more than any other
finger in our repertoire.

In addition, with us being blind, we use our hands more than most people,
so callouses are pretty much a sure thing for us, regardless of which
digit we use to read Braille.

Of course, you do realize that the "reading Braille" was just an example
of the various things we do with our fingers don't you?

I mean, I wasn't being that obtuse, was I? Smiles.
