Two problems with Bluetooth are there poor dictation reception. I guess the microphone requires too much data to go over Bluetooth. The other is lag.
One of the best devices I have found for both of these problems is the Plantronics M-55. It has a few problems of its own, but if you just want to use Siri or dictate and listen to calls and voice over, it is great. It is a single earpiece that has an optional your hook you can use or not, and the earbud does not go into the ear canal, so it does not block out all exterior sound. It is very lightweight and comfortable for extended wear. You are supposed to be able to speak answer or ignore calls, but on my Verizon phone that does not work. My friend has it work on his a TNT phone. Included with the earphone is a one year subscription to Plantronics Vocalist service, which is supposed to give you news, weather, sports, etc. But. The voice is so slow and so bad, I don't know anyone who will bother to use that service, especially with the 20 or $25 subscription after your first free year. The phone sells itself without that gimmick. On Amazon, the last I checked, the M-55 was around $43. I think it is a very good deal. I know others tried the M 50 and have good things to say about it, but the positioning of the earhook on that device, along with the fact it is not an optional Use accessory, makes me much prefer the M-55. The price difference isn't enough to make up for that design flaw. If you need more description or information, feel free to give me a shout. Eric p.s. I am finding that when I experience lag with a Bluetooth device, I can turn it off and back on and it often times will clear up the lag. It may not work on all devices, but I have quite a collection and it generally does on those. Is it possible also to get a wireless one so I don't have wires dangling everywhere. Plus one that just loops over the ear. If anyone has any recommendations I would be grateful to hear them. cheers and thank you.
