I had the same problem myself. I cspecifically held off on the updates
for the Kindle app as well as the YouPlayer app since I wanted to
check and confirm whether any accessibility-related bugs had come up
as a result of the updates. The badge for my App Store said 2 new
items, and when I opened the App Store, the Updates tab first said 5
updates, then switched to no updates at all.
Now the screen says all apps are up to date.
Probably an App Store glitch?
