Hi Joseph,
I get what you are saying to Pablo although Raul has said it already and
sometimes things like that are better sent directly rather than further
cluttering up the list.
Anyhow, I am not writing a message just to say that, but instead wanted
to
point out that Pablo does have a valid point regarding automatic time
announcement.
Pablo is quite correct in saying that in certain situations the time is
not
automatically announced if you simply press the home or power button. If,
for example, you have music or a book playing or even Downcast, if you
have
the screen locked and then press home or power Voiceover will not
automatically focus on the time and speak it. Instead it will announce
the
track position of the currently playing track and sometimes it may also
speak the artist or author if it's a book. This applies if the track is
playing but also if you pause playback, the screen locks and you then
press
the home key, playback controls, track position and so on remain on the
lock
screen so you can start to play again although they will eventually
disappear if you don't play for a time or if you pause playback, then
unlock
the phone and lock it again. Then the time is spoken again.
This actually brings up the topic of playback controls on the lock screen
which I'll address in another dedicated post with appropriate subject. I
think this also needs fixing and improving since once they go away you
can't
get them back and are forced to unlock the phone and start playback
again.
Before at least a double press of the home key brought them to the
forerground.
Regards,
Sieghard

Regarding your complaints below, you were warned over and over as to the
possible repercussions of an upgrade. Maybe the lead tech at Apple didn't
call you personally, but you have been here during a previous IOS
upgrade,
so you should know what to expect. On the issue of the time, press the
power
button and wait for the time to be spoken. It takes a second longer, but
it
is definitely speaking properly. Most early adopters are not going
through
the misery you are conveying. Also, all this is new, and most of the
perceived problems are more likely user error and not necessarily
problems
with the new version of IOS.

That I am saying is if I bought a iPhone 5, with IOs6, who works worse
that
IOs 5 in my old iPhone 4, even though, with that IOs my iPhone 5 was
working. Now if I install a new version of IOs, but it has bugs, and a
lot
of issues that I am reading that happen to me and to bunches of members
of
this list. Why apple doesn't allow me, to return back to the Ios6, to the
IOs that I had that was working? Now I am not able to read the time, I
have
to unlock the phone, I have to find the clock with my finger, and get the
time. Before I just push the power button, and I got the time.
Before I was going to the notification center, and I had the weather
right
there. Now I have to do a lot of steps to read it.
Before voice over respond very quick, now it works very slow.
before when I open an app, my phone respond fast, and consistence, now it
works so slow, and some times the apps just doesn't open.
I think that the idea when a company create new versions of operated
systems, is to improve the functionality, but the reality is different.
Any
way, if the Ios 7 is good or if it is bad, it is not the issue. I am a
customer that is not satisfied with how my product works with the last
update. I want that the product that I bought 1 years ago, works like it
was
doing when I bought it, because the last update is giving me problems. It
is
a right that I have like customer. I want my product, working, if they
did
mistakes, bugs, and things that they need to fix, they should let me use
the
operates system that I had before, until they fix what ever they have to
fix. That I am saying is that Apple should let me downgrade my iPhone,
until
they fix what ever they did wrong.

Hi Pablo, you are certainly entitled to being frustrated and to demand
that Apple make everything work perfectly. However I seem to recall that
you sent this list a ton of messages about how you didn't want to
upgrade
to iOS 6 because of bugs. Then you upgraded to iOS 6 and you kept asking
the list how to revert back to iOS 5. Now it seems you are doing the
same
with iOS 7 in wanting to go back to iOS 6. I just don't get it. If you
don't want to risk the new bugs introduced with a new iOS, then wait
like
you did with iOS 6 until a newer iOS 7, maybe iOS 7.01 or something is
out.
Just a friendly suggestion.

should be a way to crak that locked that apple did with the downgrades.
I don't know, I don't see it fir. I pay a device, so if they provide a
upgrade, an operated system, that doesn't work for me, but the previous
operated system that my device worked well. Why is fir that apple
doesn't allow me to go back to the operated system that was working for
me when I bought the device?
I would like to ask to my lawyer is it is legal, or what kind of law
frame work can I use to improve it for the customers. Customers that
are buying a product that the upgrades reduce the functionality of what
ever they bought.

Subject: More on iOS seven
Earlier I posted that you could revert back to iOS 6. Unfortunately
Apple has blocked that ability now. You were able to revert when iOS
seven beta was out. But with the public release of iOS 7 you can't.
Apple operating system is still the most accessible application on the
market. But there are definite bugs in it compared to iOS 6. Why Apple
doesn't put voice over features through a more rigorous testing process
I don't know. But here are a compilation of the problems I have
experienced thus far.
Many have discussed the jerkiness of voiceover. IT will have
experienced
this. I have an iPhone five and iOS seven. To be more specific it
occurs
when typing in Twitter or typing messages. I will be typing a message
and flick up or down one time to go past a word. Sometimes voice over
will then we verse my motion. Instead of being at the end of the word
as
I intended suddenly I am at the beginning of the word. I'm a fairly
educated individual having a doctorate degree. So it is not due to me
accidentally touching the screen or anything on my part. It is a flaw
in
the software at least on my phone. Another example of a voice over
error
occurs in the Twitter application Twitterrific. Sometimes it will read
a
tweet again and again and again until I swipe left or right to move up
or down the list of tweets. This I could be a problem with the Twitter
application itself. However I have the most up-to-date version
Most annoying problem I experience is regarding voice over when I am
playing music or audio and the phone is locked. It occurs when I play
audiobooks or music. Voice over will suddenly say screen locked. It
will
occur randomly and continuously. It usually occurs every 1 1/2 to 2
minutes. Is a software glitch for sure. Sometimes I am able to prevent
it from having this error if after locking the phone I disabled then
reenable voice over.
Other then a new look which doesn't appeal to me considering I'm blind
and iTunes radio which I myself don't use there aren't many new
features
that I personally use. But as I said it is the most stable application
on the market. I'm surprised that Google doesn't make their software
accessible It is quite a shame considering they are designing
driverless
cars.
I am considering purchasing an iPhone 5 S and if I do I will update the
list as to whether I experience any of these same difficulties.
