Hi, 1. To shut down your iDevice press and hold the Sleep/Wake button (AKA power button) for about 4 seconds. You will get a prompt asking you if you want to shut down your device, go ahead and shut it down. It will take a few seconds to shut down. Note: you can always swipe to the right or left to Cancel. 2. Leave the device off for about 30 seconds. 3. To turn your device on simply press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds. Do not touch any other buttons as your iDevice will be turning itself on. (After 5 seconds release the power button.) 4. If you are using a pass code, towards the end of the powering up process you will be asked to enter your password. 5. If you enter the correct password, you will end up on the lock screen.
Be absolutely sure you know your pass code before attempting this process.
