Hi Sherry, There is only one type of very very dumb question. That's the one where you know the answer but ask the question anyway. If you don't know the answer, its not dumb.
Having said that, just hold your power button until it asks you to slide to power off. Double tap the screen and the phone will shut down. Wait a few seconds and then press the power button and hold it for a count of about 4 seconds and release. At some point in the next 15 or 20 seconds, you will hear the voice over come on. Another thing I might suggest: if you haven't turned your phone off for a long time, have you been closing the apps you are running. If not, you should check that. Too many open apps can cause eratic behavior. HTH Ron & Danvers Falling down is part of LIFE... The last couple days, my phone has been acting weird, voice over saying things for no reason, siri not working. I was thinking of power cycling it, but honestly, I've never once turned it off since I got it. with my 3GS it was such a pain because I never knew how long to hold the power button to be sure it was powering back on, since there was no audio feedback or vibration or anything to know it was booting up. So is there a reset I can try? or if I should power it off and back on, approximately how long should I hold the power button and how long till the phones boots up?
