Right, you didn't have to switch pages in IOS 6 if you were just deleting them, but if you had more than four open, and wanted to keep more than four open, then you would have to switch pages to get to anything but the first four pages in the App Switcher. You also had to switch pages in the App Switcher to get to settings like portrait lock mode.

Rose, I have noticed that if I tap delete on one app in the switcher and raise

closing any apps! (smiles) Now, I have never had 30 apps running, but I have
had about 12 or so and works like a charm.

not have had that many but I was in a hospital room and doing a lot of
messing around while my husband was pretty much out of it.

Hi,

yes I feel the same way. I really like the new way of accessing the app
switcher. I also like the 3-finger swipe up to close the app.

have a blessed day,

Hi. for those of us that like to swipe through apps, the app switcher is a
lot easier. there were a lot of times with the old way of using the app
switcher that I'd flick to an ap and think hmmm I want to open that, but of
course I couldn't because I was in edit mode so to speak.

What is so great about the app switcher, for me the old way worked a lot
better. Then maybe it is because I don't swipe to every element on the
screen, only do that occasionally, for the most part my fingers know where
to go and that was certainly true in the older version.

My husband has not figured out the new app switcher yet, but he has an
excuse, he has been pretty ill and things that used to be easy for him to
understand are more difficult now.

Hello,

I like the new app switcher, the extra features of Siri and the control
center. I don't really appreciate the notification center. It looks rather
cluttered with these three buttons "today", "all" and "missed". Would be
nice if it was possible to disable these. Another thing that bothers me is
that no matter what I try I can't get the weather widget back into the
notification center. This was always a valuable piece of information to
me.

The new voices of Siri in German are okay. The male one is rather good,
whereas the female one sounds awful. The German voice of VoiceOver has
some
errors it didn't have in iOS 6. For example, it's not even able to say
"VoiceOver" or "app store" properly. This is ridiculous.

In general, the voices got worse, even when you're using the premium
voices.

They have some crackling sounds and somehow I feel they were compressed.
Like an MP3 file that was compressed to a lower bitrate which sounds worse
but saves some memory. While the voices got worse, the audio quality still
sounds good. And this contrast is awful, especially when you're listening
to

a podcast and a push notification is read meanwhile.

The contrast is especially frustrating when using Siri. Siri
almost
talks like a human, but when you have to listen to additional
information with VoiceOver, the contrast destroys all the good
user
experience. This used to be better on iOS 5 and 6 when
VoiceOver and
Siri sounded similar. This is so annoying that I don't
think
I'll use Siri that often.

Another thing that bothers me is the issue of focus loss within several
apps. It's especially frustrating in Twitter clients when you favorite a
tweet and go back to your timeline or RSS readers. Also the "read all"
gesture doesn't work on Feeddler. When you perform this gesture, VoiceOver
starts every now and then, and you will have to find your reading position
and perform the "read all" gesture again. So there's neither Twitter nor
reading RSS feeds for me since iOS 7.

So it's a week since iOS 7 was released to the public. What are your
thoughts so far? As for me it's very good and I like the new features,
such as Control Centre. However, while it is very usable on my iPhone 4,
it is sluggish, at least from a VoiceOver user's standpoint. But I know
it's going to run just fine on my upcoming iPhone 4s.
All comments welcome.
