I hate to be a pest, but I guess I must be to totally get it.

I went to general, reset and erase all content and data. Of course, VO was
gone. Now I went to my iTunes and since I could not see turn on VO, I asked
instead to set up iPad as a new iPad. I triple tapped home and VO started. I
was now on the screen where it says hello in many languages. I tapped hello and
after quite a while it asked to set up iPad. Going through this process was
fine. Went then into settings and again to general and reset. When I tapped on
that there was reset network, home page, dictionary and reset data and
settings, I beleve which I tapped. It asked for my apple ID, and did something,
but none of my settings or apps were downloaded. What did I do wrong? Am I
asking for too much to have my iPad with the same settings and apps as iPhone?
Frustrated kind of in FL

Hi,

Thanks for clarifying this for me. That's what I thought. The reason that I
posted this is that there is a recent post in using the cloud to restore a new
iDevice, whatever it is using iCloud. Others need to be clear that the current
version of an app will be placed on the new device and that some apps become
broken when a new version is released. I just wanted others to know this before
using the cloud.

Thanks.

Best,
Eileen
Hi Chris and All,

Okay. When I connect my iPhone to the computer iTunes opens and when I am in my
device, I have a choice to back it up to the cloud or manually. Are you saying
that if this phone wasn't setup from the get go that I couldn't back it up to
the cloud through iTunes at a later point in time? I usually only back up
manually to the computer. What advantages would I have to also back the phone
up to the cloud?

Thanks.

Eileen
