Sieghard,

Yes, I can see how that fuzzy logic can come across as confusing. (lol) When I say I am right handed, I mean that I hold my phone in my left hand and do all of my swiping and tapping with my right. Hopefully, that makes more sense.

That case from Monoprice sounds really good. I'll go search it out. Thanks much.

Hi Rick and Ron,

I don't get your logic, if you are right handed doesn't that mean you hold
your phone in your right hand and hold it to your right ear? Why would you
have it on the left side? Anyhow, my dog is on my left so my iPhone is on my
right side, if it rings and I don't have a headset plugged in I just pull
the inside case which snaps on the iPhone out of the belt clip portion of
the case with my right hand and all is good.

The case I am talking about and which I like best so far is a $5.75 USD case
from www.monoprice.com. I don't have time to go online now and find the link
or look for it in the archives, but I have posted it before and I think if
you searched the archives for "Monoprice" or "Monoprice.com" you should find
it. It was a few months ago. If not let me know and I find it and post it
again tonight.
The only thing I wish they improved on this case is the tension on the belt
clip, the spring could be a bit stronger. ?Apart from that for $6 it's my
favorite case, it swivels, nothing is in the way of the charging port and I
like the way the part that snaps onto your phone which protects the entire
back and the 2 long sides slides into the part you have on your beltand how
it uses friction to stay put. This also allows me to slide it in upside down
so the home button is up which actually makes the phone easier to use as it
is on your belt and I can even slide it in with the back of the phone facing
out if I was somewhere where I might not want people to know I have an
iPhone for security reasons.

Sieghard

Hi Rick,

This started as somewhat of a joke but I wear mine on the left exactly for
that reason. I'm right handed also.

As for the vertical case, I had one for my iPhone 4 so they are around.
Mine was white but there are various colours. I got mine from Amazon. The
problem with the vertical case is that, when you bend down, the bottom of
the case presses against your thigh and the case pops off your belt.

Funny you should say that. When using my phone on my belt I used to wear it
on my right but started wearing it on my left. If you are right handed, it
sort of feels better this way because you don't have to switch the phone
from your right hand to the left which is the case if you are carrying it on
your right.

What I would like to find is a belt case that is vertical instead of
horizontal and is large enough to hold my 5s while it's in a battery case.
I'm sure there is one somewhere, just have to find it.

Hi Sieghard

We should start a long discussion here. I have a black leather case
that goes on my belt. It has the clip and also 2 loops that stop the
case and phone from jumping off my belt. Here is where the discussion
starts...

I prefer my phone on the left hand side. (smile). I think you should
put yours on the left. You may like it better.(LOL)

Hi Anna,

As I said before, I misplaced my 5S black leather case and it's just
possible that it was in a box I threw out. Anyhow, I would have sent
it back for sure, what you said about not being able to plug in the
Lightning connector when the phone is in the case is incomprehensible
to me. I mean Apple made this thing and I would expect nothing less
than perfection especially considering the price. Yes, it has a thin
leather covering, but it certainly does not "protect" the phone any
better than a 3 Dollar TPU case. I actually bought one of these from
monoprice.com and it also fits perfectly, it's also black and the only
thing is that it may not look quite as nice. However, I can plug the
Lightning connector in when the phone is in that case.
Apple really should have made a case with belt clip or optional belt
clip. I am actually surprised reading through a bunch of these
messages how many people put their phone in their pocket. I guess it's
OK for walking around, but I find it rather uncomfortable to sit when
the iPhone is in my jeans pocket and I just totally prefer to have it
on my right hip which is why I really like belt clip cases.

Sieghard

Hi,

I have one of these cases, and it's pretty good. It lines up well with
the connectors and buttons, it doesn't take up a lot of extra room,
and I think it will provide basic protection, though it doesn't cover
the screen at all, so it certainly won't protect the phone from water,
scratches to the screen, etc. It fits snugly. My only annoyance with
it is that I can't connect a lightning to 30-pin adapter to the phone
while it's in the case. If you don't need to do that and you want
basic protection in a form that isn't bulky, however, it should work fine.

Best,
Anna

Hi all,

In the Apple store app and it was also on the Apple site they have a
new
leather case for the 5 and the 5s. It's suppose to fit the 5s snug
and they say even all the holes line up etc. It sounds nice and I'd
like to get one but before I shell out 40 bucks I was wondering if
anybody on the list has one of these cases and if so, what has been
your
experience with it?
