You are talking about lists. The problem is that tweets which get sorted into 
different lists don't get moved out of your main timeline, so you'd have to 
sort every person you follow. If you didn't, you'd have to wade through tweets 
you already read in different lists to find the ones that are not sorted. Just 
something to think about. As to whether Twitterrific supports this, I'm not 
sure, but I thought it did, if you look in the main menu (the button in the top 
left).
