Hello Christina and anyone else interested, unfortunately, updating my iPhone
5s to 7.one.one has not corrected this issue. I also feel that this contributes
to the battery drain issues that some of us of been experiencing. The
workaround that I'm using for the time being is to trigger Siri after having
used dictation. In other words, I close the Messages app, I press and hold home
and ask Siri for my local temperature, she tells me what that is. And now after
about a minute the speaker does shut off.
