So, did you try shutting down all apps, clearing the app switcher, and rebooting your phone? That was the fix for me when the audible app would stop playing when my phone locked. I am not sure, but I have a guess that my bard mobile app does something weird. That is only a guess because both times, bard was in my app switcher.
