Hi, Jose, Screen curtain is a part of Voiceover. It's used to darken the screen and give privacy. As far as I'm aware, it doesn't save battery life, because it doesn't disable the screen. I use the screen brightness setting, because it does improve battery life and works when Voiceover is off. I think screen curtain is a good temmorary privacy solution.
