Using this app on an iPhone, I have found that it’s possible to connect the iPhone 5S to a HD television, bring up the on demand portion of the app, and then the high definition video and audio play right to the television, it really works great!

Well, the one I have for TWC, there's the 5 tabs at the bottom for Guide, on demand, Live TV, DVR, and settings. You can hit that on demand tab, and there should be a search button towards the top of the screen where you can search for your program you want to watch. When you do find it in the results screen, there are play buttons next to each one when you swipe through to get the player. Otherwise you could double tap the title of the show and then a screen comes up that would have a watch now button that does the same thing. I would assume this is how the regular TWCTV one that isn't Brighthouse Time Warner works too. It seems like TWC did a pretty good job making the on demand and live TV sections accessible.
