Just to let everyone know how another DBR works, the TiVo app is pretty much completely accessible. I can bring up the guide and start watching a show on my TV. I can look through my list of recorded shows and have one of those played on my TV. I'm sure there are some features I can't access with the TiVo app, but I haven't stumbled across one yet. BTW, my cable provider--Suddenlink--offers the TiVo as it's DVR option.

Oh, so they're not like the DirecTV or Uverse ones where you can just
hit some equivalent to a my DVR button, hit OK on the first show, get
it, and then maybe when it's done options to delete or replay come where
you just arrow down a few times and hit OK? I know on some systems, if
you let more than one episode of a show accumulate, they go into
folders, which would make a mess if you're totally blind.

Hello Brent,

You know, this is something that I take for granted.

I have a Time Warner DVR and use it daily for both scheduling and
watching television shows.

Time Warner is currently in the process of upgrading their DVR software
across the country. The roll-out, as I understand it, is anything but
consistent and many of the reps are unaware of the change.

Three months or so ago, I had a question about the new version of the
software so I stopped by a TWC office to make an enquiry. The head tech
guy told me I was mistaken and that there was no new software being done
on any of the DVRs. After about 10 minutes of him talking down to me as
if I were an idiot, I returned home, unplugged my DVR, and took it into
that office. To make a long story short, I don't think he or anyone else
at that location will be doubting anything I say anytime soon (smile).

Anyway, I happen to be one whose DVR received the software upgrade and,
as much as I like to bash TWC, I have to admit that they have improved
the readability of the DVR menus by increasing contrast, using simpler
fonts, and allowing all functions to be access via arrow keys.

Be that as it may, were it not for the fact that I have a big screen
television and can see just enough to make out the selection bar and
onscreen keyboard, when searching, the device would be totally useless
to me.

As I stated at the beginning, the fact that I can use my DVR, at all, is
something that I take for granted. I just happen to live very close to
a Time Warner regional hub. Later today, I will stop in and make a
formal written request for added accessibility.

Mark

I would assume this is how the regular TWCTV one that isn't Brighthouse
Time Warner works too. It seems like TWC did a pretty good job making
the on demand and live TV sections accessible. I guess I'm glad that I
didn't waste the extra money on having DVR, as I've heard some of them
aren't real easy for us to just arrow down the list of shows, watch
them, and hit delete after.

Hi.
You can schedule recordings, but you cannot play them back, either on
your TV or your device. Consider calling their tech line and requesting
this feature, I have several times.

Hello, I am a time warner cable customer who uses the Brighthouse TV app
to watch TV around the house on my phone. I noticed there is a DVR tab
on the app but I do not have a DVR through them. Has anyone used the app
with a DVR? If so can you schedule recordings, and play the recordings
back on either your phone or us the phone as a remote to control the DVR?
